By Gabriel F. Cordero Australian favorite Alexander Volkanovski defeated 32-year-old Russian Movsar Evloev to retain his Featherweight Championship. In the first round, 38-year-old Volkanovski appeared more determined and dominant, while Movsar countered with long-range strikes and kicks. Volkanovski, however, proved far more aggressive. Although Movsar managed a takedown, “Volk” quickly returned to his feet, and the two found themselves face-to-face once again.
