The Janata Dal (United) has expelled Mokama MLA Anant Kumar Singh and his wife, Neelam Devi, for six years over anti-party activities that involved him campaigning against the party’s candidate in Bihar Legislative Council elections. JD(U) also cancelled their primary membership with immediate effect. Notably, Anant Singh had backed the Jan Suraaj candidate instead of JD(U)'s official nominee.
