Dev Diwali will be celebrated on November 24 this year. The festival is observed on Kartik Purnima, around 15 days after Diwali. It is believed that Lord Shiva defeated the powerful demon Tripurasura with a single arrow, leading to the illumination of the world. In Varanasi, the occasion is celebrated by lighting thousands of oil diyas along the Ganges ghats.
