Tamil Nadu CM Vijay's government has received praise from the Union government after reducing VAT on aviation turbine fuel (ATF), potentially offering relief to airlines amid rising fuel costs. Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu welcomed the move. Tamil Nadu cut the rate to 16% from 29% at Chennai and to 1% at all other airports in the state.
