During his Azerbaijan visit, S Jaishankar toured Baku's Ateshgah Fire Temple and described it as a symbol of historical and cultural ties between the two countries. Ateshgah is associated with Zoroastrian fire worship and later attracted Indian pilgrims and merchants. The complex has inscriptions in Devanagari, Gurmukhi and Persian, reflecting the diverse communities connected with the shrine.
