India's 21-year-old sprinter Mrutyam Jayaram Dondapati and 20-year-old sprinter Malaya Barik died after their motorcycle crashed into a divider near Odisha's Cuttack. Jayaram was a two-time national champion and two-time Asian U-20 relay bronze medallist, while Barik competed in 400m. Both athletes had also participated in Indian Open U-23 Athletics Competition in Jaipur last week.
