An elephant calf aged around one year was found dead in a plantation at Harladka in Thodikana village of Sullia taluk. The calf was found in the plantation belonging to Chandrashekar. A herd of wild elephants from Bhagamandala reserve forest had reportedly entered the plantation and damaged coffee and banana crops. The cause of the calf's death is yet to be ascertained.
