Oil India Ltd discovered natural gas in the Matsyapuri formation in the Krishna-Godavari Basin off India's east coast. The Godavari-1 appraisal well recorded a peak flow of 200,000 SCMD, with condensate output of ~170 barrels per day. Testing of the next higher zone is underway. The block was won in recent Discovered Small Field bid rounds.
