ASI begins fresh excavations at 90-acre U'khand site linked to Mahabharata. Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has begun fresh excavations at a 90-acre archaeological mound in Kashipur, Uttarakhand, to investigate its possible links to the Mahabharata era. Local legends associate the site with Guru Dronacharya's ashram, where he taught the Pandavas, and the nearby Drona Sagar lake. ASI has been conducting excavations at the site across multiple phases since 1939.
