Hospitals in Karnataka must disclose medicine prices. Hospitals across Karnataka will have to disclose the purchase prices and MRP of medicines in patient bills from November 1, under new directions issued by the state Health Department to improve transparency in healthcare billing. The measure aims to help patients understand cost of medicines supplied during treatment and distinguish the hospital’s procurement price from the amount charged to them.
