3 Jamia students launch hunger strike seeking restoration of students' union, suspended. Jamia Millia Islamia University has rusticated one student, suspended two and imposed a one-year campus ban on all three after they launched an indefinite hunger strike demanding the restoration of students’ union. University accused one of them of participating in an "unauthorised sit-in" and disrupting the installation of CCTV cameras. Jamia has not held student union elections since 2006.
