Pakistan has been ranked among the world’s top 10 countries facing acute hunger, according to the 2026 Global Report on Food Crises. Pakistan ranks alongside countries such as Afghanistan, Nigeria and Sudan as major centres of food insecurity. Around 11 million people in Pakistan faced severe food insecurity in 2025. The report attributed the situation largely to extreme weather events.
