4.1-magnitude earthquake hits Shimla. An earthquake of magnitude 4.1 on the Richter Scale hit Shimla and adjoining areas in Himachal Pradesh at around 4:36 am on Saturday. The epicentre was 40 km east-northeast of Shimla and approximately 24 km from Rohru. The quake, which occurred at a depth of 10 km beneath the Earth's surface, caused no reported casualties or significant property damage.
