Death sentence for UP woman, boyfriend who killed her husband and staged it as snakebite. A Meerut-based court on Friday sentenced a woman named Ravita and her lover Amardeep to death for the murder of Ravita's husband, Amit Kashyap. They had murdered Amit and placed a snake beneath his body to pass off the killing as a snakebite death. The prosecution said Amit's post-mortem report found that Amit had died of asphyxia rather than snakebite.
