Mothers donate bone to rebuild children's legs in Delhi. Surgeons at Aakash Healthcare, Delhi, pioneered using mothers' fibula bones to reconstruct children's destroyed leg bones — a technique previously limited to arms. Six children, including four from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, were treated for cancer and chronic infections. Two boys were saved from amputation. The first patient, operated in 2021, is now walking with her bone still growing.
