Sitharaman says she's listening to debates over effects of STT and LTCG tax. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman indicated that she'll be "keenly hearing" debates on effects of the securities transaction tax (STT) and the long-term capital gains tax (LTCG). Speaking at the Bloomberg New Economy Forum, Sitharaman refused to confirm whether the government is even considering a reduction in the two taxes. "There's a lot of debate over [the taxes]...It's healthy," she added.
