US releases 4M barrels from oil reserves after Hurricane Isaias. The US Department of Energy authorised the release of up to 4 million barrels from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to ExxonMobil and BP after Hurricane Isaias disrupted oil production on the Gulf Coast. Each company receives up to 2 million barrels to keep refineries running. Both must return the oil plus a premium by 2027.
