India targets 1 billion 5G users by 2030: Scindia. At IMC 2026, Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced India aims to double its 5G user base from 550 million to 1 billion by 2030. He added India plans to lead globally in 6G, with Bharat 6G Alliance holding 7,700 patents. India is now the world's second-largest mobile phone producer with USD 63 billion industry.
