Even Japan can't make 500-km-long bullet train track in 10 yrs: Top official. Masafumi Shukuri, Chairman of the Japan Transport and Tourism Research Institute (JTTRI) and International High-Speed Rail Association (IHRA), spoke on the delays in bullet train project. He said that even with 62 years of experience Japan can't construct a 500-km-long track in 10 years. He cited COVID-19 pandemic as well for delay, adding that the project was proceeding strongly.
