Central Railway has received an upgraded prototype of a non-AC local train fitted with automatic doors, manufactured by ICF Chennai. The rake will undergo fresh technical and safety trials before passenger use is considered. The first prototype at Kurla car shed will also be sent for modifications. The project aims to reduce the risk of commuters falling from moving trains.
