A 46-year-old homemaker from Vimannagar was allegedly cheated of Rs 8.7 lakh after downloading a malicious APK file sent to her on the pretext of clearing a pending piped gas bill of Rs 13. A 49-year-old resident of Undri lost Rs 11.25 lakh to a fraudster posing as a piped gas company employee, who tricked him into downloading a malicious file on a mobile phone on Oct 27.
