Canada plans to welcome up to 6,22,000 new permanent residents by the end of 2027 through a combination of regular immigration admissions and a one-time transition programme for temporary residents, according to the federal governments Budget 2026 and Immigration Levels Plan. This includes 2,20,000 new workers and up to 1,50,000 new international students in 2027, 2028 and 2029.
