As per the Uttara Kanda of the Ramayana, the demon king was called Dashagriva or Dashanana, before he earned the name 'Ravana' after his encounter with Mahadev at Kailash. Sawan is regarded as one of the most sacred months for Lord Shiva devotees. According to Hindu beliefs, several figures from mythology earned Mahadev's blessings through unwavering devotion.
