A tornado tore through Chapecó in southern Brazil on Wednesday (Nov 4), ripping roofs off buildings, uprooting trees and causing extensive damage to the city's Serafim Enoss Bertaso Airport. Wind gusts of up to 126 kmh were recorded, while more than 400 families required assistance from emergency personnel. The storm also left thousands without electricity and forced the suspension of flights after airport structures were severely damaged.
