Central Railway has proposed electronic interlocking at more than 14 Mumbai suburban stations following the October 26 Kanjurmarg signalling fire. The incident disabled 24 signals, disrupted trains for over nine hours and was followed by three passenger deaths. A three-member inquiry committee is investigating the fire, with findings expected shortly.
