Democrat James Talarico has claimed a historic victory in the Texas Senate race, defeating big-money campaigns and what he described as a political establishment fighting to protect the status quo. In his victory speech, the Senator-elect said the real divide in America was not left versus right, but “top versus bottom”. Talarico also vowed to fight billionaire influence, political division and attacks on public services.
