KOTA BHARU, Nov 4, 2026 – Kelantan recorded 2,135 arrests for offences under state Syariah law betwe. State Islamic Development, Dakwah, Information and Public Relations Committee chairman Mohd Asri Mat Daud said 1,446 khalwat cases were recorded during the three-year period, representing approximately 67.7 per cent of the reported total. The figures were compiled from enforcement operations conducted by the Kelantan Islamic Religious Affairs Department (JAHEAIK) through its Syariah Law Enforcement Division.
