The Union Cabinet has extended Agniveers’ service by two years. CDS General NS Raja Subramani said the revised arrangement gives them a route to serve for up to six years. In 2022, the Union Cabinet introduced the Agnipath scheme to recruit personnel into the Armed Forces as Agniveers under the respective Service Acts for a period of four years.
