Democrat Annie Andrews has scored a historic victory in South Carolina, defeating Republican Darline Graham to win the state's US Senate seat. Her win ends a 28-year gap in Democratic Senate victories in the traditionally Republican state, with the last Democrat elected in 1998. Andrews also becomes the first woman elected to represent South Carolina in the US Senate.
