The owner of an Auckland heritage building has been fined $135,000 for not complying with a dangerous building notice. Built around 1855, the former Fitzroy Hotel on Wakefield Street is considered the city's oldest brick building. After cracks developed in its facade, Auckland Council issued dangerous building notices to its owner The Fitzroy Hotel Auckland Limited, and company director Terry Huang.
