PMC's revenue mobilisation could slow after SIR duties disrupted routine tax work. Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has recorded a decline in new property tax assessments during FY2026–27, with approximately 28,500 properties assessed between April and October, compared with 57,000 in the corresponding period of FY2025–26. The slowdown has been attributed to staff being deployed for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, which has affected routine tax department operations.
