Heavy rainfall triggered waterlogging and flooding across Chennai and parts of northern Tamil Nadu as Severe Cyclone Murasu intensified over the Bay of Bengal. The IMD issued an orange alert for Chennai, while several flights were cancelled and schools remained closed. Madhavaram recorded 11 cm of rainfall, while Ennore and Nungambakkam received 10 cm each. Civic teams were deployed to clear waterlogged areas.
