A six-day humanitarian ceasefire in Russian-occupied Oleshky, in southern Ukraine, has ended after allowing aid deliveries and civilian evacuations. The temporary truce was brokered with the involvement of US First Lady Melania Trump, with Pope Leo also supporting efforts to secure humanitarian access. It enabled civilians to leave the frontline town and provided a brief window for supplies to reach residents facing severe shortages of food, medicine and clean water.
