A 48-year-old home guard, who was assaulted by a group of three men for questioning their public consumption of alcohol in Ariyalur district on October 29, died of his injuries at Thanjavur Medical College Hospital on Saturday night. A Tamil Nadu Home Guard died after three men allegedly assaulted him for questioning their drinking in public. The incident has raised concerns about the safety of police and Home Guard personnel.
