A young adult has been diagnosed with invasive meningococcal disease, South Australia's 22nd case this year. It is understood the young adult was in critical condition on life support in a metropolitan Adelaide hospital as of Saturday morning. Nine other people with whom he came into contact are also being treated for the disease which ‘can develop quickly and is life-threatening’.
