A 30-year-old leather businessman, Maj Javed Sayyed, was arrested for allegedly attempting to rob Bhavani Jewellers in Kurla West using a fake pistol. Police said business losses and a ₹15 lakh debt reportedly prompted the attempt. An alert Anti-Terrorism Cell constable, Gupta, intervened during patrol, overpowered the accused after a scuffle and foiled the daylight robbery on Friday afternoon.
