A 77-year-old man was on Thursday sentenced to eight years in prison and fined Rs 15,000 for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl. Paravur fast track special court, while sentencing Vijayan of Kozhithuruthu in Puthenvelikkara, added that if he fails to pay the fine, he will have to undergo an additional six months in prison.
