Shadman Islam struck an unbeaten 99 from 219 balls, including 10 fours, as Bangladesh reached 213/3 at stumps on Day 1 of the first Test against West Indies. The opening batter produced a patient and disciplined innings, striking 10 boundaries as Bangladesh built a solid foundation after electing to bat first. Shadman finished the day agonisingly short of his century, having occupied the crease throughout a largely controlled batting display.
