With trains to eastern India witnessing heavy rush during the festive season, Northern Railway has planned over 6,200 trips of special trains to accommodate passengers travelling home for Diwali. Indian Railways will run a reserved Vande Bharat Festival Special between Delhi and Patna from October 16 to November 17, 2026, via six stops, offering 36 trips to meet festive travel demand.
