Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Kanpur on the occasion of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti and offered prayers at Maharishi Valmiki Ashram. He paid floral tributes to Adi Kavi Maharishi Valmiki and sought blessings on the auspicious occasion. According to popular belief, the ashram is associated with the composition of the epic Ramayana and is also believed to have provided shelter to Mata Sita during her exile.
