Orissa high court has held that a person cannot automatically claim Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) status in a state based on the caste classification applicable in another, while hearing a plea against the Mayurbhanj revenue authority’s refusal to register a land sale deed executed by a Jharkhand resident.
