A migrant worker from North 24 Parganas, Sahida Fakir (38), whose name was deleted in SIR with an appeal pending before Appellate Tribunal, was picked up by Mumbai cops when she stepped out for groceries under ‘illegal Bangladeshi’ suspicion on July 19. Her husband moved Calcutta High Court pleading for an opportunity to produce all documents, including original electoral rolls dating back to 1952 to prove Sahida’s family and she are Indian.
