Thousands of people marched through Lisbon on Saturday to demand affordable housing as rising rents and property prices make it increasingly difficult for young people and families to find homes. Protesters gathered near Rossio Square, carrying keys and banners calling for a general strike over housing. The demonstrations targeted housing measures proposed by Prime Minister Luis Montenegro that would ease annual rent increase limits and make tenant evictions easier.
